Trauma Healing and Crisis Counseling
Course Description
This course provides a comprehensive study of trauma healing and crisis counseling from a Christian perspective. Students will learn about trauma theory, crisis intervention models, and biblical approaches to healing. The course emphasizes the application of counseling concepts to trauma and crisis situations in the Kenyan context. Through case studies and counseling simulations, students will develop skills in trauma assessment, crisis intervention, and therapeutic techniques. The course also covers the role of faith communities in trauma healing and the importance of self-care for counselors. By the end of the course, students will be able to make informed counseling decisions that contribute to healing and restoration in trauma situations.
